This course covers both fashion and textiles in equal measure, therefore, offering students the option to select a path to pursue in the industry. It aims to develop competent, creative individual designers who are employable, but can also be independent.
Fashion design section teaches students how to turn their sketched design ideas into wearable, sellable clothing items. In preparing for the fashion industry, students learn design development, production techniques and presentation techniques.
Textile design section is concerned with creation of beautiful designs and motifs on fabric.
This course also includes a section on interior decoration. Here, students learn the art of room dressing using soft furnishing and other crafting, aiming to make a house a home indeed.
Graduates may become self-employed or find employment in designing, buying, visual merchandising, product development, design and wardrobe, styling, etc.
